The Cutera Xeo comes in three different models: the CoolGlide Xeo; the Genesis Plus; and the Xeo SA. The type of model that you are operating determines the exact components that come with each device; however, all models operate as platforms that can function with additional, optional handpieces. The CoolGlide Xeo and Genesis Plus both offer a laser console, permanent laser handpiece, at least one detachable pulsed-light handpiece, a touch screen panel, footswitch, and a dual handpiece rest. The Xeo SA, on the other hand, does not have a laser handpiece and offers only a single resting tree, but it does come with at least one detachable laser handpiece and is slightly more compact.
With each of the consoles, there are several different handpieces that are can be used with the Cutera Xeo: 1064nm Nd:YAG; OPS600; LP560, Prowave 770, Pearl and LimeLight. The XEO has the ability to be configured to work with any IPL hndpiece.
1064nm Nd:YAG Laser Beam
Cutera’s Clearview 1064nm Nd:YAG laser beam offers a wavelength that is rendered invisible to the human eye given its proximity to the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. As a result, a low power visible aiming beam is used alongside the laser to provide enhanced precision capabilities. Essentially, the laser light from the 1064nm Nd:YAG is absorbed by both the melanin and the hemoglobin containing the target tissue with the appropriate parameters, successfully providing the intended result.
Given its accuracy, this laser beam has multiple uses within the aesthetic treatment field. Possible uses for the 1064nm Nd:YAG laser beam include the removal of unwanted hair, permanent hair reduction, pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), coagulation and hemostasis of benign vascular lesions (including hemangiomas, port wine stains, telangiextasias, rosacea, venous lakes, leg veins, spider veins, poikiloderma of Civatte, etc.), and wrinkle and wart treatments. Additionally, Cutera’s Clearview 1064nm Nd:YAG laser beam is safe for use on all skin types, including tanned skin.
OPS600
The OPS600 (Optimized Pulse Spectrum) beam emits 600-850nm of pulsed-light. Since the beam is visible to the human eye, no aiming beam is necessary and instead treatment can be provided with the pulsed-light beam alone.
Treatment with the OPS600 is intended specifically for benign pigmented lesions. Using test-spot treatments to determine the possible effect on surrounding skin (which typically does not occur), treatment results in darkening of the pigmented lesions. After a time, the darkened lesion will slough off the skin, removing all traces of the procedure. No pulse duration adjustments are required with the OPS600 pulsed-light beam.
LP560 (Long-Pulsed)
The LP560 (Long-Pulsed) beam emits 560-1200nm of pulsed-light. Like the OPS600, the beam is visible to the human eye so no aiming beam is necessary.
Also similar to the OPS600, treatment with the LP560 is intended specifically for benign pigmented lesions. While the lesions will darken from treatment, the surrounding skin remains unaffected and no pulse duration adjustments are necessary.
ProWave 770
The ProWave 770 is an IPL handpiece designed specifically for permanent hair reduction and can be used on all skin types. You select the wavelength to use based on your patien’s skin type. The ProWave 770 has a wavelength of 770 – 1100nm. The handpiece also has built in epidermal cooling.
Pearl
The Pearl is uses 2790 nm wavelength (YSGG) for skin resurfacing of wrinkles and deep skin imperfections. It’s minimally invasive – it’s technology allows the user to control the depth of epidermal penetration. It’s the perfect handpiece for targeting signs of aging such as sun spots, age spots and wrinkles.
LimeLight
The LimeLight handpiece for XEO treats pigmented lesions safely. It’s an IPL handpiece that works best for skin types I-IV. It’s a self calibrating handpiece that has a proprietary wavelength selection to ensure the proper treatment for your patient’s skint type.
